In the clever comedy FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT TIME TRAVEL, co-produced by BBC Films and HBO Films, three down-on-their-luck lads find themselves sucked into a time-travel adventure via the bathroom of their local pub. Ray (Chris O'Dowd) is a sci-fi-obsessed geek who has just been fired from his job at an amusement park. He and his friends, Pete (Dean Lennox Kelly) and Toby (Marc Wootton), settle into their favorite pub booth to bemoan their nonexistent careers, mock Hollywood films and actors, and debate the merits of being a "nerd." However, their mellow if banal night is thrown for a loop when Ray, on his way to buy another round, meets the lovely Cassie (Anna Faris), who claims to be a time-traveler from the future. As she spins a wild tale about the time machine implanted in her bones, Ray assumes Pete and Toby are playing a prank, but they have no idea what he's talking about. When Pete heads to the bathroom, he stumbles into an actual time portal and into the future, where he has a horrible vision of his own death. Pete races back through the portal to tell the present-day Ray and Toby, but it's too late; soon all three are rushing through time and toilets to solve the mystery of Pete's demise, unravel the baffling rules of time travel, and return unscathed to the present, where their pints and, hopefully, the woman of Ray's dreams, are still waiting.
