Synopsis

Oscar®-winner Hilary Swank delivers a stirring portrayal of a young woman who launched an 18-year crusade to overturn her brother's murder conviction. Having survived a tough childhood, Kenny Waters (Sam Rockwell) and his sister Betty Anne (Swank) shared an unshakable bond. When Kenny is railroaded by a local cop and sentenced to life in prison for a 1980 murder, Betty Anne began an unerring quest to prove his innocence--first by becoming a lawyer and later by using newly designed DNA technology to prove her case.

Minnie Driver, Melissa Leo, Peter Gallagher and Juliette Lewis co-star in this raw, emotional drama that is based on a real-life case. Directed by Tony Goldwyn; written by Pamela Gray.
