Synopsis

Oscar(R)-winning filmmaker Steven Soderbergh ('Traffic') creates a "germophobe's nightmare" (Variety) in this harrowing thriller about the outbreak of a deadly virus. Told from the perspective of a variety of characters close to the disease-the first victim's husband, a CDC agent, a World Health Organization investigator, and various experts, doctors and scientists-the film follows their desperate race to stop the epidemic before it grows completely out of control.

The all-star cast includes Marion Cotillard, Matt Damon, Laurence Fishburne, Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet, Bryan Cranston, Jennifer Ehle and Sanaa Lathan. Directed by Steven Soderbergh; written by Scott Z. Burns.
