Synopsis

Oscar®-winner Hilary Swank soars as intrepid aviatrix Amelia Earhart in this biographical drama that chronicles her legendary exploits in the air and her personal dramas on the ground. Taking off with Earhart achieving fame by becoming the first woman to fly across the Atlantic, the film details her fame, her relationships with publisher George Putnam (Richard Gere) and fellow pilot Gene Vidal (Ewan McGregor) and her mysterious 1937 disappearance over the South Pacific. Christopher Eccleston and Joe Anderson co-star.

Directed by Mira Nair, written by Ron Bass and Anna Hamilton Phelan, based on the books "East to the Dawn" by Susan Butler and "The Sound of Wings" by Mary S. Lovell.
