Synopsis

Jackie Robinson's rise to become the first African American player in baseball and the relentless hatred he faced for it are chronicled in this "detailed and stirring" (The New Yorker) film. Chadwick Boseman stars as the extraordinary man and athlete who stood tall in the face of rampant racism while becoming a superstar for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Harrison Ford co-stars as Dodgers general manager Branch Rickey who made the historic decision to break baseball's color barrier.
