Kim is fed up lately everything Louie does, or doesn't do, infuriates her. When Louie finally confronts her, she realizes that she just hates him. He tries to get her to pinpoint what's been bothering her so he can fix it, but as she goes on and on, he decides to start by working on a few things.
Overnight, he attempts to transform himself into the perfect Stepford husband. But this doesn't work for Kim either. "It's not the things you do," she says, exasperated. "I think it's just...who you are...your whole essence of being." Realizing she needs time away, Kim decides to swap places with Jerry for the weekend. The arrangement works a little too well for both Kim and Louie, so they decide to confront things head on before they end up becoming... "neighbors."
Over dinner, they both confess that they hated each other after their first date. Louie thinks this is promising: "All married couples hate each other. We know we can handle it 'cause its been there since the beginning, but we still chose to be together." With this load off, they kiss and make up.
