With Lucy away, Kim and Louie are planning on a romantic weekend. Kim sends Jerry away with a few days of food and cooks a pie for Louie (it distracts him from jumping her the second he gets in the door). Louie brings her a bouquet of red roses. Just one problem: Kim hates red roses, and she told him so before. A fight breaks out he thinks she could at least say thank you for the gift, she thinks he could have at least listened to her the first few times she told him she didn't like red roses. The fight comes to a screeching halt when Louie calls Kim the c-word.
When Kim goes silent, Louie tries everything to backpedal, but only manages to make matters worse. He spends the weekend in Lucy's kid bed. After a visit with Mike and Rich at the diner, Louie realizes why his wife hates "the universal sign of 'I love you,'" as Rich puts it, and returns home to apologize anew. This time, Kim's ready to talk: "I told you something and you didn't listen...and it makes me feel like I don't matter." Louie finally hears her, and the two head for the bedroom for 20 minutes of make-up sex what's left of their big weekend.
