On the eve of her fourth birthday, Louie's daughter Lucy starts asking a lot of whys, forcing him to explain why he has a lousy part-time job in a muffler shop (He was high all the time in school.) Later, Lucy's birthday party ends in tears when her gifts include a fake gun and a black Barbie.
