To explore the hearts of their subjects, Whiteford and Hadary often become an integral part of their lives over the course of many years. One such documentary was "Bong and Donnell," which premiered on HBO in August 1997. This coming-of-age "buddy film" followed the lives of two boys for ten years and received an Emmy® nomination, as well as winning a CableACE Award in 1998. "Grace," a regional Emmy® winner, followed the life of a woman with Alzheimer’s disease from diagnosis until her death.
Other compelling films created by Whiteford and Hadary include "Miss Nora’s Stone"; "Marge and Walter"; "Beginning with Bong"; "Rachel, Being Five"; "Dominick and Margaret"; "The Wilson Crisis"; and "Shakissha and Friends."
Whiteford and Hadary are the recipients of ten CINE Golden Eagles and six regional Emmy Awards,® for best documentary and for achievement in directing and cinematography.
