 Brian Van Holt has a quiet intensity that transcends both the small and big screen. He is currently in production on the HBO pilot John from Cincinnati.
Making his major film debut in the romantic comedy feature Whipped and having guest starred on HBO's Sex in the City, Van Holt has played a variety of rolls, challenging him to expand and refine his talents. Van Holt starred opposite Josh Hartnett in Ridley Scott's Black Hawk Down, portraying Task Force Ranger Sgt. Jeff Struecker, who leads a convoy of Humvees to rescue a downed Black Hawk pilot in Mogadishu, Somalia. Van Holt was also seen in John Woo's action-drama Windtalkers, starring opposite Nicholas Cage and Christian Slater. He played a young U.S. Marine officer assigned to protect a Navajo code-talker during WW2.
Additionally, Van Holt starred in director John McTiernan's military-thriller Basic, in which he played opposite John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson. Other recent work includes S.W.A.T., co-starring Colin Farrell, Samuel L. Jackson and Michelle Rodriguez as well as Confidence in which Van Holt teamed with Edward Burns to swindle money from Dustin Hoffman. He starred opposite Tommy Lee Jones in the Stephen Herek directed Man of the House. Most recently, he portrayed the dual roles of Bo and Vincent in the horror film House of Wax.
Born in the Midwest in Waukegan, Illinois and raised in Huntington Beach, California, Van Holt currently resides in Venice Beach, California.
