5.14.2009 | Inventing April
Warren Leight, executive producer of 'In Treatment,' describes the relationship between Alison Pill, 23, (who plays April) and Sarah Treem, 28, (who wrote April's storyline) as like "twins." In a joint interview, the women concurred that they shared a unique bond—with each other and with the character they created together. Both women describe themselves as having a lot of adult responsibility at an early age and becoming overwhelmed at times with the task of taking care of oneself. But on set, not everything was about work. They'd often sneak off and meet at the backstage doors. "Everybody thought we were talking about scripts, but we never were," Pill told the NY Times. Added Treem: "We were only ever talking about boys. It was kind of pathetic." Read More...

04.20.09 | Dream Analysis
As Paul Weston's ex-wife Kate on 'In Treatment,' Michelle Forbes' character may not be the biggest fan of therapy. After all, she had to vie with patients for her husband's attention, and Kate and Paul's couples counseling sessions didn't end well. But Forbes the actress couldn't be happier to be returning for a second season of 'Treatment.' "It's just heaven to have that big juicy scene in your hands and to not be piddling about with silly moving the plot along, or moving the D plot along," she says. "It really is just this focused, concentrated story where we turn every single moment over and over until we understand it. It is an actor's dream in that regard." Read More...
04.13.09 | Child's Play No More
Aaron Grady Shaw is only 12, but he's already been pounding the pavement trying to get his big break for eight years. For the young actor, who often commutes from Baltimore to New York with his grandmother for auditions, all that work has paid off. He's now playing opposite Gabriel Byrne every Tuesday night as 'Oliver' on 'In Treatment,' but his childhood dream of being rich and famous is going through some adjustments. "Now, after 'In Treatment,' I think I still want to be famous, but I want to be a great actor, too, if I can," says Shaw. "I learned so much, and now I want to try and go all the way with this acting thing."

He's quick to point out that while the tears and emotions are his, the extra 15 pounds are not. "One thing maybe you should know is that I wear a fat suit," he told the Baltimore Sun. "That's not me —that's a fat suit." There's one other thing that the son of a pastor is quick to point out is acting: "I had to cuss at my parents, and that was the hardest, because I would never do that to my parents. Daddy would probably send me to an early grave." Read More...

03.30.2009 | Hope & Happiness
For a woman who claims to not have a lot of drive in an industry filled with people clawing for a foothold, Hope Davis seems to have stumbled onto success. The actress is starring on Broadway (for the first time in 10 years) in 'God of Carnage,' alongside James Gandolfini, Marcia Gay Harden and Jeff Daniels, in a role that requires everything from an emotional breakdown to projectile vomiting. And while rehearsing for that, she was also shooting the second season of 'In Treatment.' Still, she claims: "I'm not a workaholic," says Davis. "I've never really had the desire to climb the ladder, then you don't fall off the ladder, and you can just do your own thing." (photo: Bennett Raglin/WireImage.com) Read More...
