Trained at The Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama, one of London's most esteemed schools of drama, Lake Bell has quickly secured her place as one of Hollywood's most sought-after and vibrant young talents.

Bell will next be seen in Nancy Meyer's 'It's Complicated' (winner of the National Board of Review's 2009 Best Ensemble) starring opposite Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin as Baldwin's wife. The film will be released by Universal this Christmas. She recently completed Christopher B. Landon's comedy-drama 'Burning Palms' with Zoe Saldana and Shannon Doherty. Bell is currently filming Gerald Di Pego's 'Little Murder' opposite Terrence Howard and Josh Lucas, a supernatural thriller set against a New Orleans backdrop in the wake of Hurricane Katrina to be released in 2010.

Bell recently completed production on Peter Gaga' Antonijevic's 'Little Murder' starring opposite Terrance Howard and Josh Lucas. The suspense-filled independent feature follows a disgraced New Orleans Police detective (Lucas) who gets an unexpected shot at redemption when the ghost of a beautiful cellist (Bell) solicits his help in finding her killer.

Bell was recently seen in Alex Gregory and Peter Huyck's comedy titled 'A Good Old Fashioned Orgy' starring opposite Leslie Bibb, Michelle Borth, Will Forte, Lindsay Sloane and Jason Sudekis.

She appeared on the WB.com online series 'Children's Hospital' starring opposite Rob Corddry, Megan Mullally and Ed Helms. The series was picked up for a second season and received the 2009 Webby Award for 'Best Comedy Series.' Bell also appeared in the Funny or Die.com video short 'Prop 8: The Musical' which received the 2009 Webby Award for 'Best Individual Comedy Short.'

Bell starred in Tom Vaughn's 'What Happens in Vegas' opposite Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher. Bell played 'Tipper' whose best friend (Diaz) accidentally married Kutcher following a night of debauchery. The next morning Diaz and Kutcher discover one of them has won a jackpot after playing the other's quarter and Bell and Diaz team up against Kutcher in a series of plots to get their hands on the money. The film was released by 20th Century Fox on May 9, 2008 and has grossed over $200 million worldwide.

Past film credits include Warner Bros. 'Pride and Glory' opposite Colin Farrell, New Line's 'Over Her Dead Body' opposite Eva Longoria Parker and the independent film 'Under Still Waters,' for which she received the Newport Beach Film Festival award for 'Outstanding Performance in Acting.'

On television, Bell starred as the lead on NBC's 'Surface.'  Prior to that role, she starred on ABC's critically acclaimed drama 'Boston Legal' opposite James Spader and William Shatner and NBC's 'Miss Match' opposite Alicia Silverstone.  Additionally, Bell starred opposite Jeff Goldblum in the NBC telefilm 'War Stories' which followed journalists covering the civil war in Uzbekistan in the wake of the U.S. campaign in Afghanistan.

Bell had extensive training while in school in London which included dance (from historical to jive) and stage combat (sword, dagger, and rapier).  She received certification from the British Academy of Dramatic Combat.  Her London theatre credits include 'The Seagull,' 'Six Degrees of Separation,' 'The Children's Hour' and 'The Pentecost.'

Bell was born in New York City and currently splits her time between New York and Los Angeles.
