Born in Hawaii but raised in Reno, Nevada, Shannyn Sossamon left her hometown the day after graduating high school for Los Angeles to study dance. Shortly thereafter, while filling in as a DJ for a friend at a party, she was spotted by casting director Francine Maisler - who introduced her to Brian Helgeland for his film 'A Knight's Tale.' A handful of auditions later, Sossamon landed the role of the beautiful "Lady Jocelyn" opposite Heath Ledger.
She then went on to star in 'Wristcutters: A Love Story,' with Patrick Fugit and Tom Waits, '40 Days and 40 Nights' opposite Josh Hartnett, and 'The Rules of Attraction' for director Roger Avary. Other supporting cast credits include 'Kiss Kiss Bang Bang,' 'Life is Hot in Cracktown' and 'The Holiday.'
Most recently, she completed filming the independent features 'Road to Nowhere,' directed by the great Monte Hellman and 'Man Without a Head' for director Johnny Roc.
Shannyn continues to study music, dance and likes to make video art in her spare time.
