Ray has grown a lot since his break-up with Shoshanna -- and that includes running Ray’s, his eponymous coffee shop. Unfortunately, Ray’s professional success isn’t carrying over to his personal life -- he had been serving as Marnie’s sexual comfort blanket even though he’s looking for a deeper, more fulfilling relationship.

Bio

Alex received a Best Supporting Actor (Comedy Series) nomination for his work on ‘Girls’ at the 2013 Critics’ Choice Television Awards. Alex also starred in Dunham’s 2010 breakout indie feature ‘Tiny Furniture’ which received the award for Best Narrative Feature at SXSW that year. Additionally, Alex was seen in the Coen Brothers’ feature film ‘Inside Llewyn Davis’ starring Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan, and produced by Scott Rudin. In 2015 he will appear in the new Coen Brothers’ film, ‘Hail, Caesar!’ starring George Clooney, Josh Brolin and Tilda Swinton.

Alex is also an accomplished writer/director in the independent film world. Alex premiered two features in 2012: His black comedy ‘Red Flag’ debuted at the Los Angeles Film Festival in the Narrative Competition and the character-driven thriller ‘Rubberneck’ debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival in the Viewpoints category; Alex writes, directs and stars in these two vastly different pieces. Alex’s previous two features, ‘Woodpecker and ‘Trust Us, This is All Made Up’ premiered at SXSW and his award-winning debut feature, ‘The Hole Story,’ earned him a slot in Filmmaker Magazine’s 25 New Faces of Independent Film’ in 2006.
