 John Hart (Executive Producer)
A founding partner of Hart Sharp Entertainment, John Hart has served as executive producer on several films including Todd Haynes' "Safe," Peter Cohn's "Drunks," Cindy Sherman's "Office Killer" and Hannah Weyer's "Arresting Gena." Hart's Broadway and off-Broadway productions over the last ten years include "Guys and Dolls," "The Who's Tommy," "Hamlet" with Ralph Fiennes, and "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" with Matthew Broderick. Current theatre projects include the current Tony Award®-winning Broadway revival of "Chicago" co-produced by Hart Sharp.
Along with Jeff Sharp, Hart produced "Boys Don't Cry," which was distributed by Fox Searchlight and won an Academy Award for Best Actress (Hilary Swank). John Hart next produced "You Can Count on Me," written and directed by Kenneth Lonergan. "You Can Count on Me" won the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance 2000 and received two Academy Award® Nominations. Hart also produced the urban drama "Lift," which screened at Sundance 2001 and premiered on Showtime in June 2002. Most recently, he produced Doug McGrath's "Nicholas Nickleby," which was released theatrically in 2002 by United Artists. John Hart received his AB from Dartmouth College.
