Dame Maggie Smith is a six-time Academy Award® nominee and a two-time winner, for supporting actress in "California Suite" and lead actress in "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie." Her other nominations were for "Gosford Park," "A Room with a View," "Travels with My Aunt" and "Othello." A five-time Golden Globe nominee, Smith won for "A Room with a View" and "California Suite." She has received 14 BAFTA Award nominations, winning for "Tea with Mussolini," "The Lonely Passion of Judith Hearne," "A Room with a View," "A Private Function" and "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie."
Most recently Smith starred in "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" and "Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood." Last year, Smith shared the 2002 SAG Award with her fellow cast members from "Gosford Park."
Among her other films are "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone," "The Last September," "Washington Square," "The First Wives' Club," "Richard III," "Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit," "The Secret Garden," "Sister Act," "Hook," "The Missionary," "Death on the Nile" and "Murder by Death."
