"Every doctor and intern that entered the room and looked at his chart said, 'Oh, you're a Blalock baby!'"

My dad is a "Blalock" baby. He is 64 years old now, and had the surgery at Johns Hopkins in 1949. A few years ago he had to go to Mass. General Hospital for some more heart surgery. Every doctor and intern that entered the room and looked at his chart said, "Oh, you're a Blalock baby!" They expressed it with a sense of awe and wonder. It was very interesting to see that reaction from people in this day and age, that this achievement still means so much in cardiac science.
