"His first surgery took place when he was four months old." Submitted by: Cathy K., Altamonte Springs, FL I have a 12 year-old son who was born with a Unilateral Cleft Lip and Cleft Palate. He was a 28 week term baby and was only 2 pounds when he was born. His first surgery took place when he was four months old. It was amazing to see how a surgeon could work on such tiny little faces. He has gone through 8 surgeries in his lifetime. The dedication and the hard work that goes into making a skilled surgeon willing to operate on a small child has been a wonderful experience for my family to see. I think it is totally cool that Alan Rickman has chosen to do a role such as this to show the world the challenges and rewards it takes to become a remarkable surgeon. Thank you for this story HBO.
