Freddy DeMann (executive producer)
Freddy DeMann (Executive Producer) executive produced the feature films "Dangerous Game" and "Canadian Bacon" (written and directed by Michael Moore), as well as the HBO special "Madonna Live! Blond Ambition World Tour 90." He helped shepherd Madonna and Michael Jackson to international superstardom. DeMann founded Maverick Records, which released the biggest-selling debut album in the history of the record business, "Jagged Little Pill," by Alanis Morissette, which sold 28 million copies worldwide. After selling his interest in Maverick in 1999, he managed the career of international recording star Shakira. DeMann co-produced "Take Me Out," winner of the 2003 Tony Award for Best Play, as well as the Outer Critics Circle Award and Drama Desk Award. He also produced the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning play "Proof," as well as the Pulitzer Prize-winning "Topdog/Underdog." Most recently, DeMann mounted Tom Stoppard's "Jumpers" for Broadway, and his production of Tony Kushner's "Caroline, or Change," co-produced with HBO, opened on Broadway in May.
