Daniel Giat
Born in Queens, N.Y., January 5, 1955. Graduated with degrees in communications in agronomy from University of Connecticut. Daniel Giat's first career was radio, as a classical music host at WGBH, Boston and WCNY, Syracuse. He still fills in occasionally at his local NPR affiliate, WFCR, in Amherst,Mass. Pursuing a life-long dream of working in the film business, Giat did a lot of writing and worked in film production while living in Boston. Accepted into the American Film Institute screenwriting program, he entered in 1982, and there met Path to War co-executive producer Howard Dratch with whom he began developing the project some years later. Giat earned his MFA in 1984 and began the struggle to establish himself as a writer. Giat lived and worked in Los Angeles until 1996, when he moved to Amherst, Massachusetts, where he now resides with wife Jane and 2 children, Rebecca and Julian. |
