 Acclaimed playwright Phyllis Nagy (Writer/Director) makes her film directorial
debut with MRS. HARRIS. Born in New York City and based in London since 1992,
Nagy's plays include "Weldon Rising," "Disappeared," "The Strip," and "Never Land," all
of which premiered at London's Royal Court Theatre; "Trip's Cinch," which premiered at
Actor's Theatre of Louisville; and adaptations of Patricia Highsmith's "The Talented Mr.
Ripley," which premiered at the Watford Palace Theatre. She is currently commissioned
to write plays for London's National Theatre, the Royal Shakespeare Company and the
Royal Court Theatre. Her most recent stage work is a translation of Chekhov's "The
Seagull," which premiered at the Chichester Festival Theatre in July 2003. Nagy has
received the Writer's Guild of Great Britain Best New Play Award and two National
Endowment for the Arts playwriting fellowships, among other honors. She has also
directed extensively in theatres throughout Europe, including the award-winning London
premiere production of "Disappeared" and the Italian-language premiere of "Never Land"
in Rome.
