Jim Broadbent (Frank Pakenham, the Earl of Longford) won an Academy Award® and a Golden Globe for his performance as John Bayley in "Iris," opposite Judi Dench. In 2001, his supporting role in "Moulin Rouge!" earned him awards from BAFTA and the Los Angeles Film Critics Association. He won the Best Actor award at the 1999 Venice Film Festival for Mike Leigh's "Topsy-Turvy," for which he was also nominated for a BAFTA, British Independent Film Award, London Critics Circle Film Award and Chicago Film Critics Association Award. He also received Emmy® and Golden Globe nominations for HBO's "The Gathering Storm." Broadbent's other credits include both "Bridget Jones's Diary" films,"Vera Drake," "Gangs of New York," "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe," "Robots," "Vanity Fair," "Nicholas Nickleby," "Around the World In 80 Days," "Smilla's Sense of Snow," "Bullets Over Broadway," "The Crying Game," "Enchanted April," "The Avengers" and HBO's "And Starring Pancho Villa As Himself," with Antonio Banderas. His extensive stage work includes "Theatre of Blood," "The Pillowman" and numerous plays at London's National Theatre. He is currently shooting "Inkheart" with Brendan Fraser, Paul Bettany and Andy Serkis. His other upcoming films include "And When Did You Last See Your Father?" and the February release "Hot Fuzz."
