JULIETTE LEWIS as Beth •  read interview

A talented and spirited young actress, Juliette Lewis is one of the most captivating performers on the screen today. Bringing an emotional rawness and diversity to every one of her film roles, Lewis has proven her ability as one of the most sought-after actors of her generation.

Born and raised in Southern California, Lewis became emancipated at age 15 with the complete support of her father, actor Geoffrey Lewis, and her mother a graphic artist. "I always knew I was going to be in the business of the arts," says Lewis. "Becoming emancipated allowed me to eliminate all the limitations that legally stood in my way as a minor."

In 1991, Lewis completed a starring role in Martin Scorsese's remake of the classic motion picture "Cape Fear," co-starring Robert DeNiro, Nick Nolte and Jessica Lange, for which she earned both Academy® Award and Golden globe nominations for Best Supporting Actress. "For me, working with these incredibly creative professionals gave me a certain kind of fulfillment and excitement I had been longing for, to say the least," she says.

Following her "Cape Fear" role, Lewis was cast in the Woody Allen comedy "Husbands and Wives," in which she played an educated New York college student with a penchant for older men.

Lewis then completed the feature film "That Night," co-starring C. Thomas Howell, which shot on location in Baltimore and New Jersey. In a very creative and endearing story, Lewis says the film portrayed "the struggle of young love in 1960."

Lewis starred opposite Brad Pitt in the feature film drama "Kalifornia," directed by Dominic Sena. She also starred in director Lasse Hollstrom's poignant drama "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" with Leonardo DiCaprio and Johnny Depp. Lewis also co-starred in the controversial Oliver Stone satire, "Natural Born Killers" along with Woody Harrelson, Tommy Lee Jones and Robert Downey, Jr. Her other film credits include working again with Leonardo DiCaprio in "The Basketball Diaries," co-starring opposite Steve Martin in the Nora Ephron comedy "Mixed Nuts," with Ralph Finnes in Katheryn Bigelow's futuristic "Strange Days," and the vampire tale "From Dusk Til' Dawn" with George Clooney. She starred opposite Shirley MacLaine in "The Evening Star," and most recently with Giovanni Ribisi in "The Other Sister."

Lewis will next be seen in a trio of movies, starting with "The Way of The Gun," co-starring Ryan Phillipe, Benecio Del Toro and James Caan; Susan Siedelman's "Gaudi Afternoon;" and the independent film "Room to Rent," in which she plays a Marilyn Monroe impersonator, co-starring Lily Taylor and Judy Davis.
