 Fred Schepisi (executive producer, director) served as head of the Film House for almost 20 years, where he directed both commercials and documentaries. His first feature-length film was the semi-autobiographical "The Devil's Playground," which won six Australian Film Institute awards, including Best Film. The success of his second film, "The Chant of Jimmie Blacksmith," took Schepisi to the U.S., where he directed "Barbarosa," "Iceman," "Plenty" and "Roxanne." Returning to Australia, he to co-wrote and directed "A Cry in the Dark," receiving numerous awards and nominations, including the AFI Best Achievement in Direction and Best Screenplay Adaptation, and two Golden Globe nominations for Best Screenplay and Best Director. Schepisi's other film credits include "Six Degrees of Separation," "The Russia House," "Mr. Baseball," "IQ," "Fierce Creatures," "Last Orders" and "It Runs in the Family." He was recently awarded the Order of Australia for his service to the Australian film industry as a director, producer and screenwriter.
