August Schellenberg has created several indelible performances
throughout his 40-year career. He is perhaps best known for his role as the chieftain
Chomina in Bruce Beresford's "Black Robe," for which he won both a Canadian Genie
Award and an AFI Award. His numerous other feature films include the popular "Free
Willy" movies, plus "Eight Below," "The New World," "Tremors 4," "L'Affaire Coffin,"
"Death Hunt" and "Latitude 44." Schellenberg's TV work includes "The Broken Cord,"
"Geronimo," "Getting Gotti," "Lakota Woman: Siege at Wounded Knee," "North of 60,"
"Tecumseh: The Last Warrior," HBO's "Grand Avenue" and the miniseries
"Dreamkeeper," for which he won an AFI Award. A native of Quebec, Canada,
Schellenberg is a descendant of the Mohawk Nation.
