One of golf's most endearing traditions is the early season PGA tour stop for the famed Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. Each February, 180 PGA golfers hit the challenging course at Pebble Beach to try and win a 72-hole championship event that can set the tempo for the season. In addition, 180 celebrities and notables from other sports accept the challenge of competing in the amateur portion of the tournament, entertaining dreams of making enough quality chips and putts to qualify for the final round of the tournament's pro-am. Only 25 of the amateurs make the cut.
Comedy stars Ray Romano ("Everybody Loves Raymond") and Kevin James ("The King of Queens") have made the journey to Pebble Beach an annual event, putting it all on the line before the huge galleries and national television cameras. The HBO Sports special RAY ROMANO & KEVIN JAMES: MAKING THE CUT takes viewers behind the scenes as they battle the course, the elements and the pressure when it re-airs Thursday, June 23, 8pm/7c, exclusively on HBO.
