A landmark event for HBO and television, Band of Brothers is a 10-part miniseries based on Stephen E. Ambrose's best-selling non-fiction book about a World War II U.S. Army airborne unit known as Easy Company. An epic story of courage, sacrifice, camaraderie and heroism, Band of Brothers brings two of the most important talents in film, Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg, to HBO in their first- ever collaboration for a TV audience.

Starting with their rigorous boot-camp training in Georgia in 1942, the miniseries recounts the remarkable achievements of this volunteer rifle company, which parachuted into France early on D-Day morning 1944; spearheaded the Market-Garden and Rhine offensives; engaged the Nazis in Bastogne and the Bulge; and captured Hitler's "impenetrable" Eagle's Nest at Berchtesgaden in 1945.

Each of the ten hour-long Parts begins with recent testimonials from actual Easy veterans, whose indelible words segue into the dramas focusing on key moments in the Company's history. As executive produced by Hanks and Spielberg, the Parts are directed and written by many of today's top filmmakers, with Stephen Ambrose serving as co- executive producer (with Tony To and Gary Goetzman).
