Steven Fierberg
In addition to shooting the first and second seasons of Entourage, Steven Fierberg, ASC, shoots features, commercials and music videos. He recently won the 2004 Latin Grammy for Best Music Video of the Year for Robi 'Draco' Rosa's Mas y Mas. His dramatic cinematography was also seen recently in Steve Shainberg's Secretary, (winning a special jury prize at Sundance 2002 for Originality), Darren Star's pilot for the NBC series Miss/Match, as well as Kingpin, the groundbreaking NBC series about the Mexican drug trade.
His work on the epic mini-series Attila earned him the 2002 ASC award for Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography, while he was honored to do additional photography on Baz Luhrman's transcendent Moulin Rouge.
A native of Detroit, Steve went to Stanford University as a National Merit Scholar before moving to NYC, where he shot independent and 'punk noir' films for directors such as Paul Morrissey, Scott and Beth B, and Alex Cox.
Eventually relocating to Los Angeles, Steve shot A Nightmare on Elm Street 4 for director Renny Harlin, which was one of the first films to use the Hong-Kong action style in the U.S. He continued making independent films with directors such as Paul Bartel, doing Scenes from the Class Struggle in Beverly Hills.
He eventually expanded into studio features and television movies and mini-series, shooting George Gallo's 29th STREET and Patrick Hasburgh's ASPEN EXTREME as well as Andy Wolk's CRIMINAL JUSTICE, Dick Lowry's TEXAS JUSTICE and ATOMIC TRAIN, Brad Battersby's THE JOYRIDERS and dramas for Hallmark Hall of Fame. His other music videos include work with Dr. Dre, Fab Five Freddy, Queen Latifah, David Lee Roth, F. Gary Grey and Snoop Dogg.
In the last year, he completed the upcoming The Californians, starring Noah Wylie, Illeana Douglas, Keith Carradine and Cloris Leachman; Meet Market, a Hi-Def feature starring Julian McMahon; Pray for Tucson, Bruce Ferber's documentary on Howard Dean; Robi Draco Rosa's other number one videos Dancing in the Rain, Crash/Push and Lie Without a Lover; as well as several Addy winning commercials.
He has taught workshops for almost a decade at the Maine Photographic Workshops, as well as guest classes at Idyllwild, NYU, and AFI.
