Amy's mother, Helen lives with her little Cavalier King, Ginger. After Amy's crisis, Helen takes her daughter in "until she gets on her feet." A woman who keeps her thoughts to herself, and probably intends to take her deepest thoughts about her daughter with her to the grave, Helen is very good at being impassive in the face of emotional displays.
