The Moon & the Son
Noted animator and filmmaker John Canemaker interviewed his elderly father,
John Cannizzaro, shortly before his death in 1995 in an attempt to better understand their
turbulent relationship, which was plagued by unresolved conflicts and had often erupted
in violence.
The result of their final encounter, THE MOON AND THE SON: AN IMAGINED
CONVERSATION received the 2005 Academy Award® in the category of Short Film (animated) earlier this year. Read more.
