American Civil Liberties Union
For more than 80 years, this non-partisan organization with hundreds of thousands of members and 53 affiliates nationwide has fought to preserve the protections and guarantees of the U.S. Constitution. In June 2008, the ACLU started the Rights/Camera/Action program (http://www.aclu.org/rca/ ) which uses the arts and popular culture as a platform for civil liberties discussions with the artists and other professionals who create entertainment, as well as with the audiences and students who are its consumers.

Amnesty International - Counter Terror with Justice Campaign
With more than 2.2 million supporters, activists and volunteers in over 150 countries, and complete independence from government, corporate or national interests, Amnesty International works to protect human rights worldwide. Amnesty investigates and expose abuses, educate and mobilize the public, and help transform societies to create a safer, more just world.

Human Rights First
Human Rights First (HRF) works in the United States and abroad to create a secure and humane world by advancing justice, human dignity and respect for the rule of law. The group seeks to support human rights activists who fight for basic freedoms and peaceful change at the local level; protect refugees in flight from persecution and repression; help build a strong international system of justice and accountability; and make sure human rights laws and principles are enforced.

Human Rights Watch
Human Rights Watch (HRW) is an international nongovernmental organization that monitors, documents, reports on and advocates for an end to human rights abuses throughout the world. The group promotes human rights values as expressed in international human rights treaties and international human rights law.

International Center for Transitional Justice
The International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ) assists countries pursuing accountability for past mass atrocity or human rights abuse. The Center works in societies emerging from repressive rule or armed conflict, as well as in established democracies where historical injustices or systemic abuse remain unresolved.

Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America
Founded in June 2004, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) is a nonprofit, non-partisan veterans' education and advocacy organization. The first and largest Iraq and Afghanistan veterans group in America, IAVA has thousands of active member veterans and more than 125,000 grassroots supporters nationwide. IAVA addresses the unique issues facing the 1.7 million veterans that have deployed since 2001. IAVA's mission is to improve the lives of Iraq and Afghanistan veterans and their families.

'Taxi to the Dark Side' Discussion Guide from the National Religious Campaign Against Torture
The National Religious Campaign Against Torture (NRCAT) is a growing membership organization committed to ending U.S.-sponsored torture, and cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment. Since its formation in January 2006, over 210 religious organizations have joined NRCAT, including representatives from the Roman Catholic, evangelical Christian, mainline Protestant, Unitarian, Orthodox Christian, Quaker, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist and Sikh communities.
