ORGANIZATIONS
The ENOUGH Project
Founded by John Prendergast - former Director of African Affairs at the National Security Council under the Clinton administration, this non-profit aims to stop and prevent genocide and mass atrocities by promoting peace, providing protection, and punishing the perpetrators. The ENOUGH Project uses field and policy analysis and advocacy to empower an activist movement for change.

Campus Progress
Part of the Center for American Progress - a nonpartisan progressive think tank, this non-profit empowers young leaders to develop fresh ideas and communicate in new ways. The website includes links to grassroots issue campaign briefs, listings of public events, and student publications.

Not On Our Watch
Founded by the actors George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and Don Cheadle, and the film producer Jerry Weintraub, this group seeks to generate humanitarian assistance and protection for the vulnerable, marginalized, and displaced. It focuses its efforts in the Darfur region on improving public health, providing shelter, building communities, helping children cope with conflict, empowering women who have been the victims of sexual violence, and supporting the safety of humanitarian workers.

Genocide Intervention Network
Created by students at Swarthmore College in the fall of 2004, the Genocide Intervention Network allows average Americans to have a direct impact on the ground by helping to fund civilian protection.

This student-led division of the Genocide Intervention Network works to provide student groups with informational, educational and organizing resources.
> Sudan Divestment Task Force
This G-I Net project lobbies companies, states, cities, and universities to place restrictions on investments linked to the Government of Sudan.

Save Darfur
This alliance of faith-based, advocacy, and humanitarian organizations seeks to raise public awareness about the ongoing genocide in Darfur and to mobilize a unified response to the atrocities. The website includes tools to find Save Darfur groups in your area and letter templates for petitioning congress and the UN.

Human Rights Watch - Crisis in Darfur
This NGO aims to protect the human rights of people around the world by supporting efforts to prevent discrimination, uphold political freedoms, investigate and expose human rights violations. The website includes links to recent reports on Darfur, press releases calling attention to violations of international law, summaries of lobbying efforts, and recommendations for steps towards positive change in the region.

Amnesty International - Crisis in Darfur and Eastern Chad

Medecin Sans Frontieres - Sudan
Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) is an international humanitarian aid organization that provides emergency medical assistance to populations in danger in more than 70 countries. The website includes links to MSF projects throughout Darfur, recent reports on current challenges in the area, and interviews with aid workers.

Refugees International - The Crisis in Darfur
Refugees International (RI) provides humanitarian assistance and protection for displaced people around the world and works to end the conditions that create displacement. By interviewing and meeting with war-affected populations, non-governmental organizations, and aid agencies, RI representatives develop solutions to meet the most urgent needs on the ground. The website includes links to RI Sudan policy recommendations, articles about recent missions, Op-Ed pieces, and photo-galleries.

International Rescue Committee - Darfur: Growing Violence
This global network of first responders, humanitarian relief workers, healthcare providers, educators, community leaders, activists, and volunteers provides access to safety, sanctuary, and sustainable change for people whose lives have been shattered by violence and oppression. The website includes links to basic geographical information about Darfur, position papers, and photo- galleries and video of Darfur's children.

UNHCR - United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees - Chad/Darfur Emergency
During its half a century of work, UNHCR has provided aid and shelter to millions of displaced people. The website includes links to news on UNHCR operations in Darfur, video reports, photo- galleries, maps of Chad, and updates on sources of UNHCR Chad/Darfur project funding.

UNICEF - United Nations International Children's Educational Fund - Darfur Overview
UNICEF is on the ground in over 150 countries and territories to help children survive and thrive, from early childhood through adolescence. The world's largest provider of vaccines for developing countries, UNICEF supports child health and nutrition, good water and sanitation, quality basic education for all boys and girls, and the protection of children from violence, exploitation, and AIDS. The website includes background information on UNICEF's humanitarian aid in Darfur, a report on nutrition in the region, and a video message from UNICEF's representative in Sudan.

INTERNATIONAL RESPONSE
African Union Mission in Sudan
The African Union Mission in Sudan (AMIS) aims to support and implement both the May 2006 Darfur Peace Agreement signed by the Government of Sudan and the Sudan People's Liberation Movement/Army, and encompassing economic, structural and security arrangements for Darfur. The website includes background information on the AMIS Civilian Police force.

International Criminal Court
The International Criminal Court (ICC) tries persons accused of the most serious crimes of international concern, namely genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes. The website includes reports and press releases on the progress of the ICC's investigation into the situation in Darfur.

United Nations Mission in Sudan
UNMIS has been mandated by the UN Security Council to monitor and support the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement in Sudan signed by the Government of Sudan and the Sudan People's Liberation Movement/Army in January, 2005. UNMIS is tasked with providing political and logistical support to AMIS.

U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) The Humanitarian Situation in Sudan
Learn about USAID activities and funding in Sudan, and read monthly reports on the region. Programs include humanitarian assistance for displaced peoples, emergency food aid, transition initiatives, and reconstruction programs.
