About the Filmmakers

Charlene Chapman (Producer) While pursuing a degree in Journalism with a minor in Theater, Charlene Chapman directed actors performing material from her original scripts in George DiCenzo's Actors Workshop. She has written two plays and two screenplays. One screenplay, "Dormant Souls" won second prize in The Writers Room of Bucks County's 2002 screenwriting competition. The other screenplay is based on Florence Holway's life.

In 1998 Charlene and her husband Jeffrey Chapman began to pursue a story about Florence Holway, an elderly rape victim in New Hampshire. In 1999 Charlene and her husband created ginnymacjack productions.

The documentary, A RAPE IN A SMALL TOWN: THE FLORENCE HOLWAY STORY is their first project. The project, done in association with VanSant Productions, was acquired by Home Box Office in 2003.

Jeffrey Chapman (Director/Producer) After directing actors in George DiCenzo's Actors Workshop for two years in Philadelphia and New York Jeffrey Chapman trained in Film, Video Production, and Editing. In 1998, he began to pursue a career in independent filmmaking.

Deciding on a documentary about the long-term effects of rape on an elderly woman, her family, and the surrounding community in Alton, New Hampshire, Chapman started production in February 1999. Later that year he created ginnymacjack productions with his wife Charlene Chapman.

The documentary, A RAPE IN A SMALL TOWN: THE FLORENCE HOLWAY STORY is their first project. The project done in association with VanSant Productions was acquired by Home Box Office in 2003.

John Hoffman (Producer) John Hoffman is a television producer who has spent the past nine years creating and producing programming for HBO. Mr. Hoffman's most recent work was as the Executive Producer of LAST LETTERS HOME: VOICES OF AMERICAN TROOPS FROM THE BATTLEFIELDS OF IRAQ. Prior to this John was one of the producers on the HBO special, IN MEMORIAM, NEW YORK CITY, 9/11/01.

In addition, as a consulting producer to HBO Documentaries John has been the Supervising Producer of many films including; Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato's, INSIDE DEEP THROAT, The Maysles, LALEE'S KIN: THE LEGACY OF COTTON (Academy Award® Nominee), Alan & Susan Raymond's, CHILDREN IN WAR (Primetime Emmy® Award), Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman's PARAGRAPH 175 (Sundance Film Festival Award), Joe Lovett's CANCER: EVOLUTION TO REVOLUTION (Primetime Emmy® Nominee), Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato's THE EYES OF TAMMY FAYE and the Academy Award®-winning, ONE DAY IN SEPTEMBER.

In 2001 John produced the late night HBO special, NERVE. From 1996 to 2000 John produced 40 episodes of A LITTLE CURIOUS, MARY TYLER MOORE IN THREE CATS FROM MIAMI and SMOKE ALARM (Primetime Emmy® nominee, Cable Ace Award for Outstanding Children's Special).

Prior to HBO John created and produced the Nickelodeon series, ALLEGRA'S WINDOW -- winner of a Parent's Choice Gold Award and nominee for the 1995 and 1996 Cable Ace Award for Best Children's Series.

In 1985 John co-founded AIDSFILMS, a non-profit production company devoted to HIV education. As the Executive Director of AIDSFILMS from 1987 to 1990 he raised the funds and produced 6 multi-award winning films including the PBS special, AIDS: CHANGING THE RULES, starring Ruben Blades and Ron Reagan, Jr.. In 1994, John received a multi-million dollar grant from ITVS to create a four-part public television series on HIV.
