The following orginizations offer resources and assistance for people dealing with death, grief, and loss.

The mission of The Dougy Center for Grieving Children is to provide loving support in a safe place where children, teens and their families grieving a death can share their experiences as they move through their healing process. The Dougy Center was the first center in the United States to provide peer support groups for grieving children, and has served over 14,000 children, teens and families since 1982. Their National Center for Grieving Children and Families provides support and training locally, nationally and internationally to individuals and organizations seeking to assist children in grief.

Founded in 2002, ArtWorks is dedicated to the establishment and support of creative and performing art exhibitions, titled Express Yourself, that feature the works of children and young adults suffering from life-threatening and chronic illnesses. ArtWorks recognizes the need these children and their siblings have to express their innermost thoughts and feelings, create an escape from the reality of their current situation and allow others to enter their hearts and minds.

A comprehensive gateway to bereavement and grief-related resources on the Web, including a support community for people dealing with death, grief, and major loss including life-threatening and chronic illness. A companion site, KIDSAID, provides a safe environment for kids and their parents to find information and ask questions.

Bereaved Parents of the USA (BP/USA) is a national non-profit self-help group that offers support, understanding, compassion and hope to bereaved parents, grandparents and siblings struggling to rebuild their lives after the death of their children, grandchildren or siblings.

Hospice Foundation of America provides leadership in the development and application of hospice and its philosophy of care with the goal of enhancing the American health care system and the role of hospice within it. Hospice Foundation of America meets its mission by conducting programs of professional development, public education and information, research, publications and health policy issues. Programs for the public assist individuals who are coping with issues of caregiving, terminal illness, and grief.

UCP provides direct services for more than 30,000 children and adults with various disabilities (including cerebral palsy) and their families, through UCP affiliates - a nationwide network of 111 affiliates in 39 states.

TAPS provides services who have lost a loved one in the line of military duty, through peer support, crisis intervention (on-call 24 hours per day), case workers and grief counseling referrals to help families and military personnel cope. Hotline: 800-959-TAPS

The Association for Death Education and Counseling (ADEC) is an international professional organization dedicated to promoting excellence in death education, care of the dying, and bereavement counseling and support. Based on quality research and theory, the Association provides information, support, and resources to its multicultural, multidisciplinary membership and, through it, to the public.

The MISS Foundation is a 501 (c) 3, volunteer based organization committed to providing crisis support and long term aid to families after the death of a child from any cause. MISS also participates in legislative and advocacy issues, community engagement and volunteerism, and culturally competent, multidisciplinary, education opportunties.
