| ABOUT
HBO COMEDY |
| HBO
has always been a broadcaster willing
to take risks and push the boundaries
in the Comedy genre. In the early days
of cable, HBO forged their stronghold
in original programming with comedy. This
lead to programming successes such as
Comic Relief, Sex & the City, and The
Larry Sanders Show, to name a few. Now,
the "HBO Comedy Hour" franchise is perceived
as the make-or-break platform for stand-up
comedians. HBO's legacy of discovery has
created comedy stars such as Robin Williams,
Billy Crystal, George Carlin, Chris Rock,
Dennis Miller, Bill Maher, Whoopi Goldberg,
Roseanne, Damon Wayans, Eddie Murphy,
Kathy Griffin and Dave Chappelle. With
the addition of original web comedy programming,
HBO Comedy will continue to be the premiere
name in the comedy genre, both online
and off. |
