"Valerie Demands Dignity" |

Directed by: Greg Mottola
Written by: Linda Wallem
Summary
When Valerie realizes the reality cameras have zoomed in on a porn tape from Mark's bedside table, "Ladies Loving Ladies," she pleads with Jane to cut the footage. After all, hers is "not a show about ladies loving ladies, it's about this lady loving this lady."
After the cameras chronicle a dull errand, Valerie stumbles upon a foreboding magazine headline ("Is Reality TV Dying?") and learns that the Victoria's Secret models will be launching their own reality show-at the same time as hers. Later that night, she decides to spice things up for the "hidden camera" in her bedroom, seducing Mark in her sexiest lingerie. But when things get heated, she demurs, asking him for a kiss goodnight as she glances towards the camera. "We have a very healthy relationship based on respect," she declares, before whispering to Mark that she will meet him in the bathroom. This sends her patient husband over the edge. "I'm tired of doing it in the bathroom," Mark announces as Valerie tries to mute him.
The network has its own ideas for how to spice up Valerie's reality show, which include cross-breeding it with another one - enlisting "little person" Charla from the Amazing Race to work as Valerie's hyper-capable assistant. Valerie isn't so sure it's such a good idea. "This isn't really a show about a little person carrying meat on her back," Valerie whispers to Jane. "It's about a woman's return to herself with dignity. Not that carrying meat isn't dignified." But after the "Littlest Assistant" pulls a highway prank en route to Valerie's lunch with a TV Guide editor, it becomes clear that dignity is an elusive goal on the road to a reality TV comeback.
