Wladimir Klitschko won a desicive KO victory this afternoon in Germany against Ray Austin with a crushing second round takedown.
Wladimir didn't need to flash his famous right hand once during the whole two rounds that it took to belly flop Ray Austin. After carefully out jabbing a determined Austin throughout round one, Klitschko ignored the corner advice before round two from famed trainer Emanuel Steward when he was told to let Austin taste Klitschko's right hand. Instead, Klitschko fashioned Ray Austin like the infamous Poe character, letting him wait and wait for that other fist to drop.
And for all the waiting, Ray Austin probably waited too long, since it was the left hook, or several of them, that ended the quick opportunity that this newcomer had to make his mark. 1:27 into the second round, Klitschko found his opening and connected with four huge hooks, the first one crumpling Austin, and the next three signing off on Klitschko's mandatory match up and confirming his second KO in as many fights.
