SUPER MIDDLEWEIGHT FORMER TEAMMATES TAYLOR AND LACY, NOVEMBER 15TH
Ex-Olympic teammates go toe-to-toe when former undisputed middleweight champ Jermain Taylor (27-2-1, 17 KOs), from Little Rock, takes on former super middleweight champ Jeff Lacy (24-1, 17 KOs), of St. Petersburg, in a scheduled 12-round super middleweight contest.
Taylor, a 2000 Olympic Bronze medalist, won the undisputed middleweight title when he dethroned Bernard Hopkins in 2005, then defended his belt in a rematch, serving notice he was a force to be reckoned with at 160 pounds. Following four consecutive title defenses, Taylor suffered hard-fought losses to current middleweight champ Kelly Pavlik in his last two fights.
Lacy, the first member of the 2000 Olympic class to win a pro championship, successfully defended his super middleweight belt four times before losing it to superstar Joe Calzaghe in 2006. Looking to reestablish his game, Lacy is now on a three-fight win streak.
