HBO PAY PER VIEW: OSCAR DE LA HOYA VS. FLOYD MAYWEATHER, SATURDAY MAY 5, 2007 9 PM ET/6 PM

FIGHT WEEK: ARRIVALS, FINAL PRESS CONFERENCE, AND WEIGH IN

The fight is being billed as the fight to save boxing, the super bowl, and just about every other slogan you can think of to describe what is ineffable. But there's no tailgating in Vegas and if the number of people swarming outside of the MGM Grand Arena for the official weigh-in are any indicator, boxing's never been gone.

Broadcast on live TV, the weigh in attracted as many people as your average mid sized fight, with fans being turned away in the corridors and security holding back the teeming masses as hundreds waited outside, hoping for a glimpse of the champions.

On stage, flashy Floyd Mayweather cruised onto the stage followed by Fifty Cent and his entourage. Fifty carried the champs many belts as Mayweather stepped on the scale, weighing in at 150.

The clear crowd favorite was not the pretty boy, but the golden boy, Oscar De La Hoya, whose entrance received near-deafening cheers and yells. On the scales, Oscar was a solid 154 pounds and looked strong and hungry.

Both fighters looked incredible and at the top their games, comfortable and relaxed on the stage as they posed for pictures with boxing legends in attendance including Bernard Hopkins, Roberto Duran, Tommy Hearns and Shane Mosely.
