In the main event, former three-division champion "Sugar" Shane Mosley (43-4, 37 KOs) from Pomona, Cal. takes on Brooklyn's Luis Collazo (27-2, 13 KOs) in a scheduled 12-round welterweight showdown. The only fighter in history to defeat Oscar De La Hoya twice, Mosley is riding high after back-to-back wins over Fernando Vargas and looks to regain a welterweight title. He's also been a junior middleweight and lightweight champ. Collazo, himself a former welterweight champ who lost his title in a close contest to Ricky Hatton last May, seeks to upset Mosley and return to the top of the division.
The evening's opening bout is a scheduled 12-round junior welterweight clash between Vivian Harris (27-2-1, 18 KOs) of Brooklyn, by way of Georgetown, Guyana, against Juan Lazcano (37-2-1, 27 KOs) from El Paso, Tex. Harris is a former champion in the division and has won two fights since losing the title last June. Lazcano is on a four-fight winning streak after losing to Jose Luis Castillo. The victor of this match at 140 pounds is expected to move on to a shot at a junior welterweight title.
