If there was a support group for victims of controversial decisions, Winky Wright and Ike Quartey would be charter members.
Wright and Quartey, both former world champions, each have three losses and a draw on their records, and incredibly, all eight of those fights were labeled controversial the minute the ring announcer announced the decision.

WHEN A LOSS IS AS GOOD AS A WIN
The curious thing about Ike Quartey's fight against Winky Wright, which will air on HBO World Championship Boxing on December 2, is that, going strictly on etiquette, Quartey shouldn't be there. He lost his last fight, albeit controversially, to Vernon Forrest and the rule says, in general, that when you lose you go to the bottom of the ladder and work your way back up. Read more

WRIGHT VS. QUARTEY: NOW OR NEVER
ke Quartey and Winky Wright will be facing each other Dec. 2 because they have no other choice. For boxing fans, that's usually the best of reasons.
Quartey is coming off a controversial loss to Vernon Forrest earlier this year while Wright is in with the 36-year-old former welterweight champion in part because of an equally debatable draw with middleweight champion Jermain Taylor in his last outing.
