SHANE MOSLEY VS. FERNANDO VARGAS II

A boiling hot day got a little bit hotter as boxing fans and curious bystanders alike crowded around the lobby of the MGM Grand, where Fernando Vargas and Shane Mosley spoke to photographers and reporters while greeting fans from the middle of MGM's miniature 'lobby-side' ring.

After short interviews, the fighters each took some time to speak ringside with the media. A calm and confidently relaxed Vargas answered questions from the bleachers with his family nearby. Conversations about Vargas' serious approach, his dedication to winning this fight, his physical conditioning, diet and lifestyle changes preparing for this fight filtered down to discussions of his "urban leisure wear" style as Vargas joked around with press and kept things casual.

Shane Mosley arrived shortly afterward, with his entourage in tow, dressed in the first of several matching outfits this week. Shane spoke while his father taped his hands, interrupting him to punch the air while describing his first match with Vargas. He answered questions on fighting, the idea of retirement and family, posing for a picture with his father, Jack and his son, Shane Jr., who is also "boxing a bit," before finishing off the workout shadowboxing and working the speed bag.
