W. KLITSCHKO WINS BY TKO!

Wladimir Klitschko defeats Chris Byrd to win the heavyweight title with a 7th round TKO.

In front of a sold out crowd, live from Mannheim Germany, Wladimir Klitschko was too big and too strong for Chris Byrd. Klitschko dominated the fight with relentless stiff jabs followed by thunderous straight rights battering Byrd all night long. The big difference in the fight was Klitschko's 6" reach advantage, which never allowed Bryd the chance to test Klitschko's suspect chin. Byrd showed incredible heart during the fifth round after surviving a tremendous 1-2 combination that sent him crashing to the canvas. Nothing could help Byrd during the 7th round when Klitschko delivered a brilliant right hand shot that busted up the middle of Byrd's face and prompted referee Wayne Kelly to stop the fight.
