FRENCH OPEN 2008
Ana Ivanović is one of tennis's brightest stars. After two top 20 finishes in 2005 and 2006, she's finished in the top five the past two seasons, including a stint at number one in 2008 after winning the French Open. Along with Jelena Janković and Novak Djokovic, Ivanović is part of a Serbian wave that has swept over tennis. She covers the court extremely well, and can trade baseline groundstrokes with anyone on tour.
After watching Monica Seles on television, Ivanović first picked up a racket at age five. She's a popular player who has many friends on tour. Sometimes, she prepares for matches by playing Sudoku in the locker room. In 2007, Ivanović was named a UNICEF National Ambassador for Serbia.
