He was not a pilot, but he was in charge of the mechanical unit. He was flying a mission to retrieve parts from a downed plane. His plane was shot down, and he crash-landed in the jungles on an island. Natives of the island rescued him. He was sent to Australia to heal from a disease he had gotten while on the island. |
