A Killer's Signature
On a winter's night in NYC, a young girl offered to walk an elderly woman home. Three hours later, the girl was found strangled to death on an 11th floor landing, with what looked like a sneaker imprint on her neck (seen left).

Examining the contents of her stomach, Dr. Baden found hamburger and corn remnants (seen right), which were traced to a nearby diner.

Questioning employees, the police found one man with a record of rape; in his apartment were a pair of sneakers (seen right) that perfectly matched the imprints on the girl. The man was found guilty and sentenced to life.
