Billy Martin
When the legendary New York Yankee (left) died in a truck accident on Christmas day in 1989, his surviving fellow passenger, Bill Reedy, claimed that Martin had been behind the wheel when the truck plunged into a ditch.
| |
Baden's autopsy, however, revealed that Martin's impact injuries were all on the right side, and the hairs found on the right side of the truck's shattered windshield were Martin's.
The conclusion: Reedy, not Martin, was the driver.

This photo shows Dr. Baden determining the placement of Billy Martin at time of impact. Also pictured (above) is the shattered windshield where hairs of Martin's were recovered.
