| A moronic mob bagman, his noisy girlfriend, a closeted gay hit man and a valuable antique pistol all add up to big laughs and wild adventure in this road film that pairs megastars Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts for the first time. Directed by Gore Verbinski and written by J.H. Wyman, the comedy stars Pitt as Jerry, a low-level criminal who is sent to Mexico to recover a supposedly cursed gun. Infuriated that he hasn't quit the crime biz, Jerry's girlfriend Sam (Roberts) dumps him and heads to Las Vegas, launching a loony adventure in which Jerry's brainless antics land Sam in the threatening company of Leroy (Gandolfini)--a cold-blooded but curiously sensitive assassin sent by Jerry's nervous boss (Bob Balaban).
